Well, what can I say? I adore this. It begs the question of why it took me so long to purchase a laser cutter. I was torn between this brand and another, but because it was small and lightweight, I decided to go with this one. You can engrave almost anywhere as long as you have access to power. I use my iPhone's Apple App to operate the engraver. Not that I've used the Windows app. I've been engraving wood and leather goods for my winery thus far, and the finished products look really excellent and professional. It appears to be able to use bitmap and jpeg files from the photo album on my phone. To be honest, moving my artwork from my PC to the album on my phone is the largest obstacle I face. I send them to myself via email. I did wish to engrave drinking horns, but I found that the light-colored horns simply reflect the laser light without leaving any trace. I recently launched a new company and was searching for a means to brand my products, the majority of which are made of wood. A customer asked for their name to be printed on a product, so I changed my plan from having a branding iron custom manufactured, which would have been far less expensive. My engraving machine arrived today, and I'm already in love with it. I've wanted a laser engraver for a while, but I couldn't justify spending a lot of money on a large machine when I only needed a little one to personalize items like keychains and ornaments, and this one is ideal. I finished the example project right away and went on to make my own unique idea. Making an engraving from of a photograph I had already drawn was simple. I made a mistake with this because, although looking at the text on top would have shown me that it was actually backwards, the way I thought it would engrave based on the tripod is actually incorrect (fortunately, it was a throwaway piece I screwed up on while wood burning). When I did a second pass, it gave me a really excellent deep engraving and followed my pattern with ease. All things considered, I believe this is excellent for those who are new to laser engraving! Though the software only allows for square shapes, I do wish it allowed for more customization options. There are times when I want to make some letters larger than others.
